eFoil Lessons and Rentals in the Florida Keys
Fly above the water on an electric hydrofoil — no wind, no experience needed. Most people are foiling their first session.
The first time you get up on an eFoil, you go quiet.
You go from skimming the surface to flying a foot above the water with no wind, no waves, no engine noise — just a quiet hum and the whole flat opening up in front of you. People come off their first session looking like they saw something.
There is no skill barrier with this one. No wind to wait for, no board skills to grind out first, no kite to manage. You stand on a board, an electric motor in the foil does the heavy lifting, and you learn to balance. Most people are foiling inside their first session. Kids, grandparents, somebody who has never stood on a board in their life. We have watched all of them fly.
That is why we put it front and center. The flat out front and the channels around Grassy Key are made for this, with enough room to actually go somewhere instead of looping the same patch of bay. Glass calm mornings are the magic window — you and the foil and the sunrise, gone.
WHY START HERE
The easiest way onto a foil
Foiling is the thing everybody is chasing right now. Kite foiling, wing foiling, surf foiling, all of it. The hard part of every one of them is the same — learning to ride the foil itself, feeling where your weight goes, staying on top of it without it bucking you off. The eFoil lets you learn that one thing on its own, with a motor doing the work, before you ever add wind or a wing into the mix.
Do an eFoil session before your first kite or wing lesson and you show up already knowing what the foil is doing under your feet. That feel takes most people several frustrating sessions to find. You walk in with it, and it is one of the smartest moves a new foiler can make. Most people just do not know to do it yet.
And if you never take it further than this, good. Plenty of people come back just for the eFoil. No wind, no fuss, no waiting on conditions — an easy fly whenever you feel like it.

WHO IT'S FOR
Who this is for
Total beginners curious about foiling
This is the easiest and least intimidating way onto a foil there is. If the sport has been sitting in the back of your head, start here. You will be flying before lunch.
Experienced foilers who want a clean session
Take a rental, hit the channels, ride on your own terms with nothing to set up and nothing to wait on. Sometimes you just want to fly.
Anybody who wants a no-wind option
Wind is down, the kiters are on the beach, and you are still out there flying. That is the eFoil. It turns a dead day into one of the best sessions of the trip.
Families & mixed-skill groups
The six-year-old and the grandparent can both do this. Not many things on the water are true for everybody. This one is.
MAKE IT A TRIP
While you're here
The eFoil is the easy way in. The rest of the property is why you stay.
→ Wind comes up and you catch the bug → kiteboarding lessons run on the same flat
→ Want the wind-powered version of foiling → wing foiling has its own progression path
→ After your session → the sauna on property
→ Catch something on a charter → the Rhum House kitchen cooks it that night
→ Staying the week → every room carries an ocean view
LOCAL INTENT
More reasons to eFoil here
Things to do in the Florida Keys when there's no wind
The Keys get calm, glassy days, and a lot of visitors treat those as wasted beach days. They are actually the best eFoil conditions there are. While the kiters are sitting on the sand waiting for wind, you are flying over a mirror-flat ocean. If your trip lands on a light week, this is the activity that saves it.
eFoiling in Marathon and the Middle Keys
We are on Grassy Key, just east of Marathon, right in the middle of the island chain. The flat out front and the channels around us are some of the best protected water in the Keys for foiling — shallow, warm, and calm enough to learn on. If you are staying anywhere from Marathon to Islamorada, this is the closest real operation to you, with coaches in the water and gear dialed in.
A Florida Keys activity the whole family can do
Most water activities split a family up by age or skill. The eFoil does not. We have put six-year-olds and grandparents up on foil in the same morning. It is calm, it is shallow, and the coach is right there the whole time.
One for the Florida Keys bucket list
People come to the Keys for the water and end up doing the same snorkel trip everyone else does. Flying silently over the flat on an eFoil at sunrise is the one that ends up on the highlight reel. It photographs unreal, it feels like nothing else, and almost nobody back home has done it.
